Sadaqah

“When a son of Adam dies, then his good deeds stop except for three: a Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity), a beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.” – Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
What is Sadaqah?
Sadaqah Jariyah is charity that continues to benefit people long-term and continues to earn the giver rewards, even after death. When you give Sadaqah Jariyah, it will support a project of lasting benefit that communities will enjoy and appreciate for generations to come, including:
- Supporting the construction/expansion of a mosque
- Supporting need based families and students
- Building or equipping a health clinic
- Building a school

In the Qur’an, Allah (SWT) tells us the reward of spending in charity is like “a grain of corn which grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains” (2:261). Water projects are a true example of how one act of charity keeps multiplying, bringing more and more benefit and reward. When a community has water, families can grow food, hospitals can treat patients safely, healthy children are able to attend school – the list goes on!
