In a Hadeeth on the authority of Zayd ibn Khaalid Al-Juhani (ra) he said that the Prophet (pbuh) said: “Whoever gives food to a fasting person to break his fast will have a reward like his without decreasing his reward in the slightest way.” [At-Tirmithi: Hasan Saheeh]

The Social Activities Committee will purchase all supplies for the dinners. In keeping the community's commitment to Go Green, care will be taken to purchase paper products only and minimize the use or consumption of plastic / styrofoam products.

We urge you to please keep the following in mind during this Ramadan Season.

- Place the recyclable items in the properly marked receptacles.

- Bring your own water bottles if possible.

- Avoid taking more than you can eat.

- Clean-up your eating area after you are done.

- Use the garbage bins and do not leave trash around.

- Volunteer and help out your community.

- Exercise patience and let your elders go first.

Green Ramadan Initiative
This Ramadan, ISCJ has made a resolution to “go green”. In an effort to reduce waste and conserve resources in accordance with Prophetic teachings, we ask you to observe the following: Please do not bring in cases of plastic water bottles to distribute to the congregation. This causes waste and trash issues night after night. Instead, we encourage everyone to bring your own reusable water bottles from home. You may refill your bottle if needed at any of the water stations or water fountains. Please put any recyclable waste (cans, plastic bottles, paper) in the proper recycling containers.
